STIGA Cybershape Carbon - a completely new blade with a unique shape and larger hitting surface!

Cybershape is a table tennis blade unlike anything you've ever seen before. It not only has a unique and impressive shape, but also an optimized hitting surface. Our studies have shown that for most players, the optimal hitting surface is in the upper half of the blade. For this reason, we have optimized the hitting surface to be 11% larger for shakehand grip and 9% larger for penhold grip than a conventional blade. One of Cybershape's special features is that the hitting surface is up to 6.5 cm closer to the table on returns than a round blade's 2.5 cm. Since the majority of a professional player's shots (both backhand and forehand) are executed on the upper half of the paddle, Cybershape excels precisely here. The larger hitting surface provides an improved sweet spot, making it easier for the player to control their short serves and returns, for example. As the hitting surface has been enlarged on the upper part, the lower part has been reduced by 2% to avoid making the blade too heavy and causing an imbalance. Cybershape is a 5+2-ply blade based on CCF (Close Core Fibre) technology, which means that the carbon layer sits directly on the wood core. The result is more control and speed in your game. Thanks to the lightweight and technologically advanced carbon fiber composite material, made in Germany, we were able to balance the weight so that although Cyberspace has a larger surface area than a normal blade, it is not heavier. The unique shape of Cybershape also makes it easier for the player to see the hitting area when serving. Thanks to the different angles, the player has six corners to choose from, depending on the desired spin type and strength. In cooperation with the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, we also tested the vibration properties of Cybershape, i.e. how the blade reacts when it hits the ball. The tests showed that Cybershape has a larger sweet spot compared to a normal-shaped blade, which is located further out on the blade. The frequency response is also more linear, whereby the vibrations are transmitted differently to the grip and hand. For the player, this means a completely new and unique playing feel compared to a conventional blade.
