This new version is slightly harder than our proven frictionless anti-spin rubber A-B-S 2.
Thanks to a slightly shorter contact time and a revised rubber compound, A-B-S 2 EVO produces even more spin reversal.
It is also crucial that the ball "pulls" downwards noticeably more when blocking, even on block balls against fast, spinless topspin shots with an ABS ball. This significantly disrupts the opponent's next attacking shot.
When blocking fast topspin balls, A-B-S 2 EVO also offers the option of slightly "pushing back" as an alternative to the passive block, so that the ball lands faster with backspin on the opponent's side. This creates confusion and generally enriches the frictionless anti-spin game.
With A-B-S 2 EVO, all classic frictionless anti-spin attacking techniques such as chop block and lifting can still be performed, so that an all-round dangerous and quite varied disruptive game can be developed.
The active techniques, including "pushing back" against topspin, are best performed with the thinner sponge thicknesses of 1.8 and 2.1mm. The thicker strengths of 2.3 and 2.5mm offer even more dampening and control for passive blocking.
